iPhone 3.0 Firmware Torrent Download
The iPhone 3.0 firmware offers everything that the original iPhone lacked. MMS, Copy & Paste, Landscape Email, Notes, Texting and so much more. This is the must have software update, makes 2.0 seem like childs play. If you can not wait for Apple to release the software update in July, you can download the torrent from demonoid or any other Torrent site. WARNING: without a developer account you will not be able to sync to iTunes, meaning no music! YIKES. Rumor has it that you should be able to revert back to 2.2 using DFU mode, but it has not been confirmed at the time of this post. If you have the cojones to try it download, then install by option clicking the update button in iTunes. The software is beta, and might be unstable. I’m waiting till for the Dev Team or a braver hacker to find his way around the iTunes block. Windows users stay tuned for a ipsw file to be extracted.

But the iPhone Dev team didn’t need much time to hack Apple’s next generation OS. They write:
With all of the great stuff lined up for us with the 3.0 OS that Apple described today, many 3G owners may find themselves with itchy update fingers. If you find yourself with access to the 3G IPSW for 3.0 via the iPhone Dev Center program, and you are using yellowsn0w, do not update or restore to that official IPSW. You will lose yellowsn0w and find yourself unable to revert the baseband to get it back.
And for those wondering, yes the 3.0 OS is jailbreakable on all devices. It’s just those using 3G yellowsn0w that have to show some restraint and wait for PwnageTool to create a custom IPSW that avoids the baseband update. [iPhoneDev blog]
