I used your hack and got Spotify – it’s rad… But, i just started getting a message when i log in that says “Your current location does not match that set in your profile. You may travel with Spotify, but only for 14days. For unlimited travel upgrade to premium.” Perhaps free music in U.S. is only temporary….
Maybe spotify has increased their detection. Let me search the nets to see what I find.
They didn’t up their detection, they’ve always done this. They will let you use the Free version outside of a valid country for 14 days without saying anything. At the end of that 14 day period, it will alert you that you can no longer use it from your current location. There’s no way to get around this besides purchasing a premium subscription.
Lala.com is a decent alternative, they let you listen to tracks for free (and it’s officially supported in the United States.)
The way to get past the Spotify location problem is to use a UK (or one of the other four countries) proxy. Duh.
